  • The entrance to the parking lot is on Ahern St.

Our Clients:

  • Mercer Veterinary Clinic provides free veterinary services to individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Sacramento area.

  • New clients complete a client information form with contact information and details about their pets.

    • The form also includes a description of the clinic, our services, and a statement verifying the client’s eligibility for these services.

Services provided include:

  • Wellness exams and vaccinations.

  • Problem-based medical exams, including diagnostics and treatment.

  • Flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives.

  • Pet food, including prescription diets.

  • Referral for spay/neuter.

  • We are able to serve up to 3 pets per household. We serve dogs and cats only.

Clinic Sign-ups:

  • While clinics are typically held on the second Saturday of each month, for JUNE and JULY clinics will be on the first Saturday—JUNE 5th and JULY 7th. Check in starts at 7am.

  • Though we do not schedule specific appointment times, we do require clients to sign up in advance of each clinic, and clinic sign-ups will be capped when we reach capacity. This is necessary to ensure we do not accept more patients than we can treat that day.

  • APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY WILL BE LIMITED DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS (JUNE and JULY). To request an appointment, please fill out the Appointment Request Form. We do not reply to texts or emails requesting appointments.

  • If we are able to grant your appointment request, a Mercer representative will be in touch to confirm your spot at an upcoming clinic. If the Appointment Request form is closed to new responses, then we are full for the upcoming clinic and cannot take any additional appointments.
