Mercer Veterinary Clinic: Serving Sacramento

Location:

  • Our facility is located on the Loaves and Fishes campus in Sacramento.

  • The address for Loaves and Fishes is 1351 N C St, Sacramento, CA 95811.

  • The entrance to the parking lot is on Ahern St.

Our Clients:

  • Mercer Veterinary Clinic provides free veterinary services to individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Sacramento area.

  • New clients complete a client information form with contact information and details about their pets.

    • The form also includes a description of the clinic, our services, and a statement verifying the client’s eligibility for these services.

Services provided include:

  • Wellness exams and vaccinations.

  • Problem-based medical exams, including diagnostics and treatment.

  • Flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives.

  • Pet food, including prescription diets.

  • Referral for spay/neuter. Our spay/neuter backlog currently prevents us from offering these services to new clients.

  • Additional procedures, including dentistry and surgery, are performed at our Sacramento facility or referred to other clinics as needed.

Clinic Sign-ups:

  • Clinics are held on the second Saturday of each month. Check in starts at 7am.

  • Though we do not schedule specific appointment times, we do require clients to sign up in advance of each clinic, and clinic sign-ups will be capped when we reach capacity. This is necessary to ensure we do not accept more patients than we can treat that day.

  • New and current clients can ask to sign up for a clinic by one of following methods:

    • In person at Loaves and Fishes; go to Friendship Park, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 1:30 pm and speak with George or Mart.

    • Through us directly; reach out by phone (530-752-1143) text (530-424-8277) or email (MercerClinicPets@gmail.com).

    • A Mercer Veterinary Clinic representative will be in touch to confirm your spot at an upcoming clinic.
